Chrome Bumper Repair and Re-chroming

Post by Martin Keller »

Ok fellow car nuts just some information for you as I do not usually recommend companies unless I have first hand experience like I do with this company.
I used this company to re-chrome and fix my bumpers (both front and rear) on my 1971 Triumph GT6 and am very please with the service and quality of the job they did on my bumpers as they (my bumpers) where hammered even before I hammered on them to try and get them straight.
They made both of my bumpers look like new and picked them up and delivered them back to me as promised for less than a new replacement bumper for the front would have cost and I mean they did it fast and very good (picked them up on a Friday afternoon and delivered back the following Thursday). They even fixed the brackets where that were cracked which I did not see until the fellow who picked them up pointed them out to me. As I have said I am very happy with the service and quality of the repair of my bumpers so here is their contact information.

Bumper Connection Company
12105 Slauson Ave Unit A
Santa Fe Springs, CA. 90670
1-562-464-5995 office
1-562-644-3424 Recardo (the driver who pickup and delivered my bumpers)

Hope this helps.

PS: Here is a couple of photos of my car with its re-chromed bumpers.

Martin,

The car looks great. Since I haven't seen it up close yet, we'll have to gin up an excuse to get together.

Thanks for sharing the chrome shop details. I didn't think anyone was left in California.

Hi Martin,
How was their pricing?

I used Vern's Plating for the Stiletto. Whilst they did a great job, I could have almost reached the original purchase price of the car if I did both bumpers.

Cheers,
Mark

Hi Mark,

I had both bumpers done and I could not replace either the front or the back bumper for what I paid to have both of them straightened and re-chromed and as I said they picked them up on a Friday afternoon and delivered them back the following Thursday at no extra cost.
I would use them again without hesitation that is for sure.

Mark ;

Did Vern's do any repair ? .

I have used Vern's to very good effect but so far I have not handed them anything bent or dented , I have both that need doing , Metropolitan bumpers and over riders , the over riders are pot metal and have dents , both are severely pitted .

TIA ,

Hi Nate,
Vern's did some welding and a little straightening. It turned out very well.

Hopefully you guys will see it on one of the group drives this year.

Cheers,
Mark

I love Vern's. Their stuff looks good, and holds up, no peeling 6 mo down the line. Had my tail lights done and they were a bit rusty and had a few dents. I forget my cost but they are on the upper end for which you have no worries. I got a referral for them plus I asked at car shows.

Hi All,

Just an update on the bumpers I had rechromed and repaired.
It has been three + years now and the bumpers are looking as good as the day they came back from the chrome shop.
No sign of clouding or hazing or peeling or failure on either bumber.

Hope this helps.

Hi All,

An update on the condition of the bumpers I had repaired and re-chromed are holding up really great after five years of driving and use.
Here is a new photo of the car showing the front bumper and rear bumper.

Hi Steve,

Well it’s been five years and I have put about 10K on in those five years. Last year I drove it 4235 miles and so far this year I have put 3425 miles just driving it on weekends and occasionally to work and it will be going on this years CCBCC Mille in September. The bumpers are holding up great.
