Bugeye / MGA master cylinder rebuild question

Hi guys - can you confirm that the M/C internals should be put back together as laid out here?



The metal washers go in between the "cupped" seal and the piston, and the seal itself fits over the spring end with the dished out part of the seal facing the spring. Yes/no?

Yes, that's correct. Be sure the check valve goes into the brake cylinder and not the clutch!

With the M/C facing the front of the car which side is the brake (sorry - have everything pulled apart)?

The check valve is the larger metal fitting on the spring that has two fitting, yes?

Think of it this way, the cylinder openings face the front of the car. The clutch pedal is on the left, brake in middle and throttle on right. Therefore the brake is the cylinder towards the middle of the car. Looking directly at the bores from the front of the car, that means the one on the left.

The check valve is that silver piece with the rubber inside, which rests against the rubber donut. It's the piece in the lower left of your photo. Don't forget the rubber piece either, as this is what makes the seal.
