Second coat of POR15 - steps before applying?

So I finally have the front suspension frame area ready for POR15. Some if it already has one coat from a year ago when I jumped the gun a bit. Do I need to scuff the area that already has a coat before putting a second on?

Do you guys like foam or bristle brushes to apply it? (not going to spray it for a number of reasons)

According to POR 15's instructions, you should lightly sand the area first. I've used both types of brushes to apply and haven't found a huge difference in them. The stuff goes on like water no matter what you use. The foam does seem to spread it out more evenly and the regular brush applies faster. Brush marks don't really matter since the paint self-levels so well.

If you're top-coating just for looks, then consider using a UV coat instead of POR15. It will help the paint hold its color for a longer time.

Don't forget that long handled tooth brush you have for polishing the inside of your exhaust pipe!

I only apply wax to the portion between the downpipe and the muffler.
No toothbrush, regardless of length of its handle, can be used for that.
Luckily, Proctor & Gamble has a special tool for the purpose, which while quite pricey is just the ticket for keeping your pipes clean and shiny inside.
