Alternator pulley dilemma

Post by Stewart »

I finally got the supercharger Ive been waiting for and have already run into an issue with the alternator pulley. I have the higher output Bosch ford fiesta alternator installed and the shaft for the pulley is 0.68 in dia vs the stock Lucas 0.58.

Easiest would be to install a new alternator but my luck with new electrics means at least 2 or 3 replacements before I get a good one.

Have the shaft of the alternator shaft turned down.

Have the hole in the pulley enlarged.

Or find another pulley of the right size from a alternator shop. Any recommendations?

Any good machine shop should be able to open up the pully's hole for you. Take both intothem so they can measure them and get it correct the first time.
