Pressure failure switch - warning light always red?

Post by max71 »

I got into the car yesterday and the brake pressure warning light was on even with the car off. I can't get it to go out. If I put the connector to the brake pressure failure switch it goes out of course and sometimes stays out. But when I press the brakes it comes back on and stays on.

I pressure bled the system and everything was fine except air bubbles kept coming out of the left front which is closest to that valve. Brakes feel solid. I'm never experienced this before.

It does appear to be some fluid leak around the pressure switch. I read something a long time ago there was a rebuild kit for these basically consisting of o-rings and such.

Anyone have any experience with this?

Got it figured out. Will order a rebuild kit from Moss for the shuttle piece. Can anyone tell me if I can do this in car without draining all the fluid? I'd like to remove the bolt on the housing, refit the o-rings, reassemble, without much fluid loss.
