TF Grill Slat Removal

Post by jrparsons »

I have a loose radiator grill slat on a 55 MG TF and was wondering if anyone has experience with removing them (with fingers) without removing the entire grill shell assembly. I understand it can be done from below the shell but await any ideas from those with experience. Thanks in advance.

Hi John, I have no experience with the TF specifically, but if it's anything like the TC then I don't think it can be done. I had to remove the entire grill shell from my '49 to make repairs to the slat mounting points because there was no room to get in there otherwise.

Good luck!

Hi John,

I am with Steve on this one. I have a '51 TD, I have looked at it and there is no way to get to the nuts or the mounting points with out yanking the Shell to get to them. Have fun !!
