Martin kindly donated a angle drive to me and now after putting it in for a test (need new speedo cable) I'm a little confused on routing. Does anyone have a pic of the right way the speedo cable plumbs back to the OD box?
Solve me blowing cables every couple years and sadly ruining the pinion gear this time.

Gary, it'd be hard to shoot a pic of the routing as the cable goes through the engine compartment and then over the tranny.
But run it with as few bends as possible, lube it before installing it, and it should be happy.

In baseball, running into someone is apparently a "collision".
But doing the same thing in a car somehow makes it an "accident".

I just wanted a pic where it feeds to the OD. Say the last 1.5 feet

I wish I'd remember how it looks...but I don't.
It has to go over the crossmember, that much I do know.
Once I'm back I could easily take a pic since Annette's car is already on jack stands.
The Beater B, which is here, is tied down in the trailer, so therefore not easily photographed.
Heck, I'm not even sure I bothered with an angle drive, although I have a few.
Again, why not let the cable take the path of least resistance and call it good, or are you going for a 100-point restoration?

Just going for the 'cable doesn't bounce or break' car.
Without a angle drive its almost a straight shot but it takes a slightly sharp bend. With the angle it will have bend 180 right before it matches up. Just making sure its right.

Sounds like you'd be better off without the angle drive, then.
I don't recall a 180 in the cable either way, or if the angle drive can be installed 180 degrees off - which it almost sounds like it is in your case.

You really don't want to wait a week for one, do you?

Re: Need a pic of OD trans speedo cable routing
I have to get the money together to order the new pinion drive, cable etc. So unless someone else can supply a pic its no big deal.
