Besides the ehaust tips and the GPS Hocky Puck on the upper right of the rear window it looks a lot larger than a Prius.

Wish I had a camera handy but someone actually cut the roof off a pious and turned it into a convertible.

I should have caught this one. I'm pretty sure that's Gerritt Kooiman. He's a lawyer that did our trust. This is the MGTD, red with black fenders.

That is the one. I understand they also have a '66 B as well.

Let's see. Four tail pipes on a Prius comes out to one pipe for every 400cc (4/1.6L). I'll have to stuff 8 pipes under the Healey just to keep up.

On an unrelated and potentially politically incorrect tangent. The title of this thread reminds me of one of our favorite car sites. It has a little for everyone. Photography, roads, cars and grant money.

http://www.wildlifecrossing.net/california/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The car photos can be found here:

http://www.wildlifecrossing.net/califor ... ery?page=1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I am 89% certian that the upper right photo is a 928.

Should we add to the list of roadkill a gray MGB GT?

Or a P1800...

Now to really enjoy the site you have to look at the photos and read the descriptions. Here is one of my favorites. Now don't forget this is your tax money at work...

http://www.wildlifecrossing.net/califor ... kill/11710" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

"Species Selection List: Striped Skunk
Identification Confidence: 100% Certain
Road Type: Urban Major (multi-lane)
Roadway Speed Limit: 35mph
Other Conditions and Observation Notes:
I observed the striped skunk when I was out for a jog. I returned in about 1 hour, but the city Animal Control had removed the carcass. I am absolutely certain that it was a large adult striped skunk. The kill site is at the bottom of a hill after a sweeping turn. There are fences and suburban yards on each side of the road and a large open space within 100 feet of the site. The morning was bright and clear, about 56F. The carcass was complete."

It is just a stain. My guess is Range Rover power steering fluid or ATF.

That's only because the photos showed just the smashed part. Here's a photo right after it was hit, from a different angle.

Agreed, "kill" is inaccurate because your B did manage to limp away wounded but alive...thank goodness. :jester

Whoever submitted the above description was pretty proud of his find...Hmm, or was he responsible for the kill itself? :devil:

I think they need to add a points system to rate the roadkills.

A) I had no idea Steve actually got grants for our favorite site.
B) Did you at least get her phone number, Steve?
C) I could overload that roadkill site with pics of deer and elk in New Mexico. I could also quite likely get some of drunken indians.
In baseball, running into someone is apparently a "collision".
But doing the same thing in a car somehow makes it an "accident".

Maybe you need a "grill guard" for the rear?

Actually, ACME made one for the rear as well but they weren't nearly as popular as for the front, as seen on my GT. I don't think it would have helped anyway. ;)

A) Dean wrote "...our favorite car sites." And mentioned grants. Foolishly, I took for granted (no pun intended) that he meant Vintage Motoring.
B) You posted a pic, obviously taken by you (I recognize that shadow), which shows a cute chick taking a picture of your number (well, license plate), so I wondered if you then got her number in the process?
Or was it that husky guy that rear ended you...err, let's not go there. Never mind.

Spotted: Car on a pole.

I've driven past this thing dozens of times in the past 20 years. I think it's a Bantam. Anyone want to confirm or deny?

This is a GREAT thread ! .

Those Austin Bantams used to dot wrecking yard signs all across America.....

As it turns out ,they're pretty good cars , I know of a few that are still unrestored runners , driven on weekends mostly tho' :( .

I know of a guy with probably 20 Bantams, mostly fully restored, in his garage. You can fit a lot of those things in a small space!
