I really, really like 2CVs, and I really like Minors (my mother had several of each), but the 4CV...
Guess it's mostly that the motor's in the wrong end that makes me hesitant about them. Just like with Porches and such.
Then again, I had nearly a dozen Fiat 500s and Autobianchis...
In baseball, running into someone is apparently a "collision".
But doing the same thing in a car somehow makes it an "accident".

The Renault 4CV is the ugly one, with the motor in the wrong end.
The Citroen 2CV's problem is the front wheel drive. Unless it's the two-engined, 4WD Sahara.
Now, now... let's be kind to the 4CV. :) These are becoming very collectible right now and if you have one in good mechanical shape, they are very hardy cars. One of the reasons I love own and love my Morris is because the two designs are quite similar and Renault never made a pickup version of the 4CV.
The 4CV is a lovely car (I have one). Just remember Jimmy has very bad taste. He likes Jeep Cherokees :P , lousy clothes, and he has very questionable taste in friends.

Now I feel compelled to defend myself - against Gene, of all "people".
Okay, so I definitely do like Jeep Cherokees, but the fact that I don't like Discoverys should more than make up for that.
Isn't that so, Malcolm?

I think that just underscores what Gene said about you, Jimmy. The fact that you don't like Landrovers illustrates, even more, your poor taste in cars.

Well, that one is easily explained, Malcolm.
Since I'm not making a living on fixing cars, like you are, it doesn't do me any good that the Landrovers are a never ending source of work - for you and other mechanics.
But, I must admit, I do like the (American) V8 they come with.
Come to think of it, every Metropolitan, MG, Fiat 500, and many others, should have one of those under the hood.

Hi my name is Chandler
I am helping my mom and dad restore a 1967 MGB GT that we got this past weekend.
I have been to all the GOF's since I was born in 1999.
I have helped restore our 1966 MGB roadster.
I plan on sharing our progress on our MGB GT.

Well, I'm definitely not the youngest or the newest, but I am almost ready to get "Alice" back into action after about 2 1/2 years of repair and restoration work.

All I am trying to figure out now is where to get the front end painted to match the metallic blue on it. Any leads in that direction would be greatly appreciated. Everything from the windshield forward is all I have to paint for now and I'll repaint the whole car when I recover from the cost of this restoration.

I have been following the runs while carless and was glad to see the e-mail arrive today from Steve listing the year's first runs. Finally, I can start to get excited about making it to them again.

See you guys soon.

Hi Wayne,

Give Dave Wellwood a call as he is real good at matching up paint surfaces.

Maybe you could even do a custom paint and flame job on the front and blend it into the existing paint finish.
Just a idea.
Good to know you will be back on the road again.

I just wish it was say a 67 stingray with split t or a Plymouth Cuda but no it has to be before I was born. But then again their is a place in my heart for the old vintage car.

Parziale, I have some advice for you.
Do your very best to avoid Chris "from Texas" Salisbury, a Vintage Motoring member!
He lives not far enough from you, and would be a very bad influence.

But doing the same thing in a car somehow makes it an "accident".

Hum... my dad raised me with the belt and my mom used a spatula. Then, I learned Martial Arts and I took the belt and spatula away from them.

Hello!

My name is James, and I've been a sports car enthusiast since my days at the Naval Academy. My first car was Jaguar XJ6L Series II, which I bought shortly before graduating in anticipation of a cross-country trip. Although I experienced many of the problems associated with mid-70s Jags, I fell in love with the Jag, British cars, European sports cars, and just sports cars in general.

Since the Jag, I've had a Corvette, a '67 MG-B (the best $800 I ever spent), a Maserati Biturbo E (okay, okay, stop laughing), and my current cars: a 1988 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet (my daily driver with over 228k on it), and a 1987 Ferrari 328 GTS.

Although my current rides are late 80s, my interests are British, Italian, and German sports cars of the 50s and 60s.

Hi everyone!

My Name is Adam. Me and my Dad met some of you at the Independence Run this year. We were in the Morgan Plus 8. I have been a car enthusiast since a child and my dad was born and raised in Malvern, England so he grew up around the Morgan factory. Anyways just got the time to make an account and put some pictures on my photo bucket. Will post the links in a bit!
