Your car is a beauty and is a nice addition to the group.
There are not enough Jaguar enthusiast here.
I no longer own my Jaguars but still participate in the group.
I hope that doesn't get me kicked off the site.

Indeed, it's a beauty! I hope to see it on the next fun run. And welcome to the group!

We have another E-Type in the group from the Thousand Oaks area, also red. I'm in the area as well but alas, no Jaguars in my stable.

Welcome, Abe. Beautiful car. Great color, but I'm partial to red cars :)
Looking forward to seeing your car in person.

Hello - my name is Andrew. I am a full-time college professor in archaeology, specializing in the ancient Maya or Belize, but that's not important right now (you can check out my blog in my signature below if you are curious about that!). I began the decent into British car-ness when I was 18, when I went with my dad to buy a non-running (but not rusty!) Bugeye for us to work on. That car ignited my passion for British cars, and I still own and work on it today. It is still not finished, but it is in much better shape than it used to be. It is the project I work on when I have free time, and I find it very relaxing and rewarding (although my relaxation is occasionally punctuated with brief fits of rage, as any LBC owner will understand). In the late 90s, I owned a 79 MGB that was my daily driver for three years. I replaced the 79 B with a 91 Mazda Miata, which was my daily driver until 2016. While I was in college at UCSB, a good friend of mine worked at Moss Motors, and we talked MG’s while he drove me around in his 67 MGB GT. I have also driven/sat in/worked on other LBC’s over the years as friends and time would allow. I own the literature, and have basically memorized the Moss catalog. I have done most of my own mechanics, with the exception of large jobs that require engine removal and/or major shop tools. I am looking forward to participating in one of the drives soon (although it may be in my Miata instead of the Bugeye, depending on its current status - I'm sure everyone here knows what I mean...)
Thank you Steve for this great resource!

Welcome!

This is a great group. Hope we see you out on 4th July drive.

I never knew Moorpark had an archaeology program. My wife studied archaeology at University of Birmingham in England.

Cheers,
Mark Costello

Welcome, and great photo! It oozes joy, or is that forced joy to hide the rage? ;) I've owned my '65 B since I was a teen also. It was my Dad's car and his Dad's before him. They really do become a part of the family whether we like it or not. We have several Bugeye owners in the area and lots of general British car experience. If you need help with anything, give a shout!

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. I will not be able to make it July 4th, but I should be able to make the next one!

Mark - We are very fortunate at Moorpark to have a fully-functioning archaeology program. Not many community colleges have one (and not many four-year universities do either!). I am extremely lucky to be where I am!
