Sharp car, Andi! I see you rent your Bentley as a business. I've always been curious about doing that but my problem is that I become too attached to my cars to let anyone else use them!

Thank you, Steve:) I understand how you feel. I get that too sometimes but one has to do what he has to earn a living:) Besides, it's flattering when I receive positive remarks from our clients.

This poor thing was just looking so forlorn. It's been sidetracked for over 15 years because it couldn't pass smog. Arnold should be ashamed of himself.

The car finally came out of the garage when the owner bought a Moss fuel injection kit. Unfortunately the motor is so worn out that it doesn't have enough vacuum for the mass air flow sensor to operate. That was the last straw and the owner decided to give up on the car allowing me to get a great deal and yet another project to play with. Overall the car is in pretty nice shape with new interior, tires and top. The deal even included a spare motor, overdrive transmission and box of parts, all from an LE the owner totalled a while ago. The car needs some TLC and it should make a really nice addition to the stable.

First step is to freshen up an engine and get this lil cutie past smog.

And no, this is not the renowned Moss Motors 30 mile MGB LE. That's sitting under the tan cover next to it.

Here is a photo of my Sapphire (Blue) at the 2008 San Diego British Car Day last fall. Thanks to Steve S. for the multi-step polishing routine! A different kind of "air brushing"!

Here's my daily driver, 1971 MGB GT. The paint looks better in the picture than in person. It's a little faded and there is a small dent on the driver's side behind the door.

I like the stripe too. If you want, send me the original image and I'll resize it for you so it isn't pixelated.

Alright, to counteract all the shiny cars on this page I hereby present my '74-1/2 MGB, normally called the beater.
Since the picture was taken, a rebuilt motor and overdrive transmission was installed, together with a freshened up front crossmember, new driveshaft and misc. other odds and ends.

In baseball, running into someone is apparently a "collision".
But doing the same thing in a car somehow makes it an "accident".

I bet it's pretty slow with all those engine parts removed. :P

here is mine in its current condition. Its been placed on hold for a month to gather funds for a new project not related to cars. I should get back on it in August. Oh and the rubber is now off the car, in the middle of deciding if a 76 should get the chrome or sebring look.

Right you are Steve. It was slow indeed - especially the progress. But once I realized that removing the motor, tranny, steering and front crossmember were NOT the best places to save weight, it got better. Much better.
With its "new" motor, OD trans, and misc. other improvements, I'm very happy with the way it runs. Particularly once I got the timing sorted out.
Still undecided whether to try getting the SUs tuned, or put the Weber off the old motor on it. I'm leaning towards keeping the SUs, as I know they'll fit together with the power brakes that are the next to get transplanted from the parts-car.
As you mentioned earlier, driving them can be more fun than working on them, but I just can't help myself - gotta keep tinkering.

Here's the lima bean overlooking Grand Mesa in Western Colorado. I only wish I had taken the time before the trip to fix the snap locations for the tonneau. As it stands it looks either surprised or like it's being held up at gun point. If the cosmetics are my only major concerns I guess I can't complain...

Nice shot! I love that area. If those errant tonneau tips bother you, a bit of Photoshop work could fix them up!

Not a bad idea. Frankly I think that I notice it more than anybody else. When it's your car it's easy to point out all of the flaws.

Their not flaws they are ears as your car is listening for your return so it can make you happy as you drive it down the many roads of enjoyment. :D :D

Here's my '59 Metropolitan Nash FHC , it has a massaged engine (Peter Burgess cylinder head) and a Borg-Warner A-35 auto tranny along with a high speed 3.72 final drive and some other tweaks .

If this posts up O.K. I'll add others , I cannot get any avatar pic to load no matter how small it is .

I don't have any fabulous rides like you alls do , I'm just an old car Journeyman Mechanic who likes to drive a lot .

Here's my old 1967 MGB GT touring in Central California , it was a two owner car I rebuilt mechanically end to end , ran the No Frills Iron Bottom Motoring Tour in it a few times , with the overdrive I added it was fast enough but I never liked the handling to I sent it down the road after a few years , pity as it was beautiful but unsafe @ high speeds in the canyons .

Well, I finally got around to taking a digital photo of the Nova. It's a '74 and I've had it since '79. My grandfather bought it new. It's been my daily driver for the past 6 years. So Steve, you can replace that photo of the back end peeking out of the garage with this photo?
