And the home applied crinkle paint is gloss black. Zowie !
Have a nice original finish dash on the way, and a friend is sending an original dash shade......
All the gauges are Jeager, that is, excepting the voltmeter that was added to the extreme left of the dash.

At present, seems to drive like a big marshmellow. Thinking that the front springs may be fatiqued. Course' there will be a revamp of the entire front suspension. Suggestions along those lines for an early car??

I just joined. I own a few cars, a 1967 Riley Elf, 1960 Austin Seven and a 1966 Porsche 912.
Here is the Elf

Here is the Austin Seven

I will have to load some of the Porsche later.
The Elf is almost complete with only the suspension, interior and paint to finish up. The Mini has everything to do.

Nice! I love the simplicity of the Seven. We have a few Elf owners around here as well. Great handling cars. Beautiful job on that engine by the way!

Hey, don't diss that dash.
It looks far nicer that the one in my Beater B. Wanna sell it cheap?

Thanks for the credit Steve, but its not exactly 'on the road' yet; that my shop 'base' material as the cement pad isn't in place yet (cement, that's how we say concrete in Arkansas). And the drive was around the field, literally, around the field over the creek and to the neighbors house finally to arrive at his asphalt drive.....fast solid surface......where the radiator hoses ruptured, kid you not, so much for the 'road' test at his house.

Jimmy, the dash is kinda kool, but I've read enough of your posts to know, that I don't know, when to take your seriously.....but if you are then we should talk .... behind closed doors (pm) other owners hobby was woodwerking by the by, not that you hadn't guessed, of course. it's kool.

Oh yeah, when I got back to the barn, the center of the farm universe, the generator had stopped working, so lookin' for one of them....

The Burbank trio. Bought these and a Hartwell 998 cc race spec engine from Ray Bisordi, Lotus Europa guru. Bumped into him at Queen's English 2010. He had five Imps, these three were spares cars that had sat out back since 1976. He now restores S1 Europas.

Moved the cars from Burbank on 11/7/10. Two cars came to Malibou Lake, one to another Imper in Orange County.

The red car is destined to be a replica of the Fraser Imps used in the British Saloon Car Championship in the 1960's along the lines of the one in the last photo. The Team Bevan Imps went on to win the overall title three years in a row. First problem is how to get three car into a two car garage that is too small for a standard four post lift.............

Nice, Mark! Thanks for the history lesson as well. I don't know much about Imps so it's great to learn something new. I have to admit, I didn't expect the race version to look so good. It's really cool! Love the Z3 coupe also. It's one of the few modern cars I'd actually like to own. But then Jimmy would make fun of me for owning another "station wagon".

I can help you with that. Come on over to my place and see five cars in a [mostly] standard two car garage. :)

Actually, Steve, I wouldn't.
Annette had a Z3 convertible, which I liked. Then she bought a wagon (always thought the Z3 wagon looked neat) but while it was a peppy M model, it was a Z4. Yuck.
So I'd have Z3 wagon envy if you bought one.

Hi,

I'm a new member and although I no longer own my TR3A, I have been thinking about it more and more . . . so you never know. Anyway, I'd like to join you on the New Years Run, and go from there.

Thanks, Claus

Here is my baby. 1969 build BMW 2002. I had her for 3 years now. Second owner. Color is called Bristol Grey and its a rare older color. I would not call it fully restored yet, but dang once you start you can't stop. The "might as well replace this while you're at it" concept led me to replace/rebuild almost everything on this car except the starter probably!
This is the carburetor model. Although I could have scored a tii and I know they are more collectible, I chose the simple model to play with and tinker with things that I can handle with my amature knowledge. Days have gone by and the singe barrel carb is gone to be replaced with the Italian twins along with all internal mods to back it up. This is a pic that was taken on a driving event. You guessed it. its the famous snake.

Now that's a nice Beemer! If that "gray" is almost white (hard to tell for sure in the photo) then I may have it on one of my British cars. Shhhh! Don't tell on me! :)

I also share your preference for simplicity. I'd always take carbs over FI on a classic.

Thanks Steve and Tdskip. I know the color (colour :D ) is a bit on the white side in this image. I must say that one of the things I like about it is the different shades it shows when exposed to different lighting. You can see the gray below:
Image
and here is an old one I dug up when I first bought her. It on the blue side here:
Image

OK enough before people get tired of it :)

A little BMW tip for ya: some BMW colors are based on city names then followed by the color, for example, my car is Bristol Gray. I was told it is the color of morning fog in the UK city of Bristol.

Other example: Leguna Seca Blue, Dakar Yellow and Verona Red.
Last but not least Beemer/Beamer= BMW Motorcycle. Bimmer = BMW car
