Tanny had a pic he was going to post.....
As for what we're doing in the above picture , the wheel only ripped partially off so he was pressing it back in so I could get the lug wrench on the lug nuts to loosen them .

Re: Labor Day, Sept. 3, 2012
I think it was Doug that brought his very nice 912.Photo Gallery.
Claus' amazing under $1,000 buy that runs pretty darn well.
This MGB has a 283 chevy V8 and separate frame. The racing stripe not only goes on top of the car but through the engine compartment and under the car. This car was very low.
A very nice TD and he did the run too.
The ladies brought their MGA. Linda saw that they had changed drivers and said so to them and the driver said, "we did?" I like to see them at the run and they are very nice too.
Doug's happy to be at the run. He loves to drive. Unfortunately his Elf succumbed at the very end of the run and is now at Malcolm's waiting repair. I hope it's not serious and is inexpensive to repair.
Just a bunch of cars and very nice people, with Tad in front with his mighty Mazda rotary powered Midget. You gotta love the flames.
At the bottom of Tuna Canyon, cooling off.
Waiting for Nate and the rest to show up.
How does Larry keep the engine compartment so clean? I want to know!
As usual you can see the rest of the pictures at my - VWNate1

Thanx , Tanny ! .
I always appreciate your photos .
I suspect Larry is cheating , he coated the inside of the engine with Teflon and doesn't have any oil in there .
What failed on Doug's Elf ? .
I replaced both rear wheels yesterday and began taking my front suspension apart , the control arm pivots are , as always , firmly rusted into thier rubber bushings and refusing to come out ~ any help or suggestions will be appreciated .
I got very positive feedback from my freinds who tagged along , they enjoyed meeting this august group and hope to attend more Vintage Motoring Tours in the future .

No secret really. I just wipe it down once in a while with a spray mixture of a tiny amount of Dawn and water, and wipe it clean. Also this car doesn't get driven as much as a lot of other's cars do. I've actually got an oil leak, too!

I think Larry's "secret" is that he stays on the road. After all, there's much less dirt on pavement than there is in the ditches.tannyo wrote:How does Larry keep the engine compartment so clean? I want to know!
In baseball, running into someone is apparently a "collision".
But doing the same thing in a car somehow makes it an "accident".
