2017 Rosbif Run - Feb 5

Can you believe it's been a whole year? Once again we will hit the roads to honor our fallen comrade, Mark Benson. This is a fairly short run through Mark's local roads, with lunch as our final destination.

If you still have your windscreen banner from last year, consider mounting it again for this run!

When and Where

Meet at 9:00 AM at Supercar Sunday, located at 6100 Topanga Canyon Blvd, between Erwin and Oxnard streets. We depart at 10:00 AM for a 40-mile drive through the Topanga Canyon area. Lunch will follow the run at a BBQ restaurant in Woodland Hills.

Weather permitting, I plan to be there...though not in the MGB this time. The engine is out of it. More on that later...

Unfortunately I'm out as the upper radiator tank sprung a leak on the gt.

Crack an egg in it. No I wouldn't do it but yes it actually works! Bummer about the leak.

I plan to be there in the MGA but I just fought off a cold so we'll see if I make it all the way to lunch in the cool, damp weather.

Is getting foggy and cold so I might wimp out and bring the BGT. Hasn't been washed since 3 rainstorms ago so pardon the mess.

It was cool and damp for sure, but still a fun day of driving and kicking tires. The weather and other issues kept a lot of the regulars away but we still had three cars at the start - Me in my MGB GT, Larry in his E-Type and Mike in his Clubman. By lunch we had five cars when Dean and Donna joined in their Warwick and Austin in his BMW. We modified the route a bit which actually ended up much shorter, but with the heavy fog at higher altitudes it was slow going anyway. Visibility was down to maybe 25 feet at one point. Lunch was at the same place as the innagural run last year (Rib Ranch), with Austin leading a toast to Mark after our BBQ.

I didn't get any photos from the start at Supercar Sunday, but here are a few I snapped of the run and lunch...

Hi Steve. . . thanks for the report of the run. What a pity the weather was not as good as last year. Nevertheless the spirit was strong, and we really appreciate how well you managed to celebrate the love and passion of our boy Mark. We raised a glass too, even if it was not a Coca Cola cup !!
