Mullin Classic Car Meetup in Celebration of Father's Day!

Hi All,

I'm bummed that I missed the Memorial Day run, I have to check this board more often!

I just got a flyer from the Mullin about a meetup at the museum in Oxnard. All cars are welcome, but parking priority will be given to classic cars. It's Saturday, June 17, all day. $15 per person, which also covers admission to the museum.

Anybody up for that? I was thinking about a nice run out Encinal Canyon to the coast, then up PCH into Oxnard. I'm going, but the flyer mentions special parking for groups. Well, actually it says "car clubs" ... is that us?

This is the first thing I've seen them do that wasn't outrageously overpriced. Maybe they're getting the hint.

I just talked to the Mullin, and there is still room if you want to include your car in the "show and tell"

Good thing I called because that's apparently the only way to get on the list. You can buy tickets online, but you can't register your car that way. Call them at (805) 385-5400.

I was thinking this was on Father's Day but now I realize it's the day before. Unfortunately I'm hosting another event that day so I won't be able to attend. Maybe next time!

Arrived around 9:30 AM and there were about 20 cars there. I met Dave Wellwood who brought his Austin Healey and James who works for him who brought his yellow Opel GT. One of our group and his wife came. Her name is Drenda (hope I spelled it right) and I can't remember his name, again. I really feel bad as he's a pretty nice guy. He owns the yellow MGBGT with rollbar. The museum provided water and snacks for those who showed their cars. Sorry I forgot to take pictures of the cars, but I did take a few pictures inside.

Thanks for posting this report, Tanny. I would liked to have attended as I've not been to the Mullin yet...silly since I live so close, but I had other priorities.
