Any suggestions? And for those in the peanut gallery, yes I've already seen a psychologist.

Yes, but have you also seen a psychiatrist?
Sounds like fun. My thoughts are...
The deep south might overwhelm your AC so plan accordingly.
Check your spare tire pressure. No one ever does that.
Carry anything that might go wrong that a local garage can fix...

- Water pump, gasket and sealer.
- Fan belt.
- Complete distributor with clamp, cap and wires. Have it gapped, timed, tested and ready to go with two screws.
- Change your spark plugs now and keep the old ones as working spares.
- A fuel pump.
- Radiator hoses, especially the lower one.
- A toggle-style headlamp switch. You can use this in place of any switch that goes bad.
- A set of generator brushes and a rear bushing.
- One gallon of drinkable water, for use in either you or the car.
- A couple fuses.
- A spare inner tube and a short length of rim tape.
- Whatever spare wire, connectors, bolts, nuts, etc you think you need if you want to fix things on the road yourself.
- The usual tools, oil, brake fluid, etc obviously.

Sounds like fun, Tanny. But I think the obvious question is: Why are you driving your MG to Atlanta?
Are you planning to drive it back, too?

I'm going to visit my oldest son Patrick and his wife Barbara in Atlanta, Georgia. On the way there and back I'm going to visit my sister in Pawhuska, Oklahoma. I hope to take pictures.

Tanny's Going to drive to Atlanta in His MGB GT
? Steve ;
Isn't this the normal carry to the store stuff ? .
You forgot DUCT TAPE in case a coolant hose blows ~ just wash off the slippery coolant, tape it up, re fill it and motor on, filler cap loose so no pressure .
LUCAS fuses ! they're different and yes, they do occasionally blow with out cause .
I wish I could go to ! .

I carry about half of that stuff in my daily driver but for longer trips in the older cars I'll carry the whole lot.

I carry fuses which I seem to have to use about once every year or so. I also carry oil and my spare does have air in it. Other than that I carry a AAA card and a credit card. I tried to do preventative maintenance instead of waiting until something goes bad. On the trip I did have a fuse blow. I knew this because the gas gauge all of a sudden showed empty and the turn signals stopped working.

Are used RainX about six months ago. It's probably not on the windshield anymore.

Re: I'm going to drive to Atlanta in my MG
Finally got home Saturday night, safe and sound (well at least safe).
Is that an exploding scorpion down there in that cloud? Stewart highly recommended 89A. It's a beautiful run down to Sedona, though the first few miles or so are under construction. As I said, under construction. It was a gorgeous day. Hot tip: if you're going to blow your diet and get a chocolate malted don't get a large because it's awful hard to drive with brain freeze. Further down the road. Ready to go. Not much in the way of traffic. Lost a fan blade. Unfortunately new fans are not available so I'm looking for a used fan. It has to be pre-1972.

Re: I'm going to drive to Atlanta in my MG
I usually drive North into Sedona then continue up the twisty bits .
? Did you encounter or seek out any 'vortex' ? .
It looks nice, the weather cooperated with you as it did most of my road trip to New Mexico and The Navajo nation last August .
Jerome is nice too and only a little side trip from Sedona .
Brain freeze is a natural thing when you're a Gear Head who likes to DRIVE Tanny ! Me, I like Slurpees .
I used a nylon seven blade Nissan fan to vert good effect until I found an original metal MGA one ~ I prolly gave it away, I imagine there's plenty more @ Pick-A-Part ....? .

Russ found a fan in a parts car. He cleaned it up and painted it.
