Labor Day Run
Are we going to have a great Labor Day Run this year? If so where are we going? I am looking forward to trying out my new clutch which is being installed in the next few weeks.

Re: Labor Day Run
Why don't we say...
When: Monday, September 4, 2017 (meet at 9:00 AM, rollout at 9:30 AM)
Where: Malibu Colony Plaza, 23841 West Malibu Road (southwest corner of Pacific Coast Highway and Webb Way)
I still don't know if I'll be there (have a job on hold) but at least this makes it official.

Re: Labor Day Run
Why roll out so early? Don't we usually roll out about 9:30 or so?

Re: Labor Day Run
Count me out. Got back from Malibu cars and coffee to find no running water.
Will be rebuilding well pump system tomorrow.
You may want to check forecast. Malibu was horrible today, hot and humid. Tons of CHP in the canyons as well.

Re: Labor Day Run
Dave (who owns a peerless) and his son Steve brought a Morgan +4. Gary brought a very nice Rover 3500 sedan with a right-hand drive. A Jaguar XJS showed up, a Jensen Healey, and Tom brought his yellow MGB with new loud exhaust.
Dave and his son didn't have time to do the run and Tom had a gnarly bruise thing from his waist up to his ribs decided maybe to go visit a doctor. Gary and the other two decided they didn't want to go on a twisty run. I suggested several mild roads, but they ended up just driving up PCH to eat at Neptunes Net. They did seem to know most of the roads and were interested in going on future runs.
I ended up spending so much time trying to play host that I plum forgot to take any pictures. I'm very sorry. The cars that showed up were very nicely done.
I thought with nobody left that I'd go home too. As I was driving up Malibu Canyon Road/Las Virgenes I saw Piuma Rd and decided to at least take a trip up Piuma Rd, Schueren Rd, Saddle Peak Rd, and try my new brake pads on Tuna Canyon Rd.
It was a very nice drive. Piuma Rd got very foggy. I slowed down and even turned on my headlights.
Lucky for me Tuna Canyon Rd was clear and a lovely drive. The new brakes tested out brilliantly and I am very pleased with them. The brake pedal got a little longer, but I had no brake fade and was very comfortable with how they performed.

Re: Labor Day Run
Tannyo, Great video, brakes got a good test, glad they are alright. Thanks for your heroic effort and many suggested variations to get those guys to go on a more meaningful drive, but, one of the ladies gets car sick and that put the kibosh to your efforts. Next time we'll leave the ladies at home and drive a vehicle more suited to one of your many suggestions.

Re: Labor Day Run
Sorry to hear this run fell apart. I was on a plane over the Midwest right about the time y'all were driving.
Gary, the Memorial Day run is great for the ladies. Lots of different cars and not many twisty roads, compared to other holiday runs. It usually gets a good turnout and lots of wives show up as well.

Re: Labor Day Run
Tanny - you did a great job "hosting", and we enjoyed hearing about the Atlanta trip adventures first-hand. And I fell in love with Gary's P6, with boyhood memories of my Grandfather's blue and brown cars that he had.
