I'm not sure that 1997 is old enough to be consider vintage, but my new ride is even louder and rides rougher than the MGA. It might even have less creature comforts. LOL. It doesn't handle as nicely nor get as many admiring looks.
I bought
I'm sharing this mostly as an explanation of my absence from any events. In June, after nearly a year of building and working to get it open, I opened a commercial kitchen and retail shop selling ice pops (popsicles). We make them by hand, using whole fruit and all natural ingredients. The store has done well, but my main sales avenue is concerts/street fairs/farmers markets and other events. We also do private catering. So far things have been great, but busy. That said, I still drive the MGA once a week or so on days when my schedule with the girls and shopping for supplies allows it. It's actually be running super well for a while now (knock on wood) and everytime I see it in the garage I still get excited.
The van pictured will be getting logos or possibly a full wrap. It's for moving our freezer carts around. They are heavy and bulky, but the van has a liftgate so that makes it pretty easy.
Between family commitments (we have two little girls now) and the store, holidays are tough for me to sneak away, but I do miss meeting up with everyone and driving hard. Hopefully again soon. If you're ever in the San Gabriel area, my store is right next to the old mission and there are some good spots for photos of cars. =)
Cheers,
Geoff
