GoF West 2007 Trip Report

Post by Steve Simmons »

For anyone interested, I have (finally) completed my report from our trip to GoF West 2007. We drove our TC to Park City, Utah, taking scenic routes wherever possible. I expected it to be miserable driving to a destination across the hottest parts of the US in July, but the trip turned out to be quite enjoyable with many memorable experiences.

The address is http://mgnuts.com/mg/events/gofwest2007/ where you will find five pages with over 300 photos.

That is really cool, and makes me want to get myself going for the drive up the coast on the 101. Well mostly, I was thinking of taking a few detours, just for the drive. That looked like it was a fun trip.

If you're going up north, I highly recommend taking the coast route as much as possible. It's one of the best drives on the planet, literally.

Here's my trip report from last year's GoF West in Oregon. We took the coast there and back.

That is my intention, I wanted to hit the redwoods, specifically through one of them and was thinking of an overnight in Fort Bragg, as well as one in SF. I have driven the 101 between SF and LA multiple times and really enjoy it. Mostly because it isn't as boring as the 5. My last trip to SF resulted in taking the 101 home, just to avoid the traffic issues caused by that bridge fire.
