CHANGE OF PLANS. THE THREE OF US ARE GOING TO BE HERE INSTEAD OF AT THE COMMONS. COME JOIN US.
Fancy a drive Jan. 1st?
Our friends at Targa California have un-officially put the word out...
What are you doing on January 1st , 2019 ?
We are not organizing the following, but sharing what hundreds have done over the many years: A get together followed by a drive through the hills outside Los Angeles.
Rumor has it that owners of all makes, years, and models of cars will meet in the parking lot of Vons / Starbucks located at the corner of Soledad Canyon and Sand Canyon right off the 14 fwy (north east off the 5 fwy) at 7:00-ish
At 8:00 am, the hordes are due to follow this route:
Sand Canyon north to Sierra Highway
Right on Sierra and go to Vasquez Canyon
LEFT on Vasquez to the end
RIGHT on Bouquet Canyon
LEFT on Spunky Canyon (hard to see, but bottom of hill adjacent to reservoir on your left)
RIGHT on San Francisquito Canyon
RIGHT on Lake Elizabeth Road(becomes Palmdale Bl)
Corner of Palmdale Bl and Tierra Subida (Regroup/ gas station/ pee stop)
RIGHT on Tierra Subida and follow up the hill
LEFT on Barrel Springs Road to end
RIGHT on Sierra Hwy
LEFT on Pearblossom Hwy
RIGHT on Barrel Springs Road (yep a 2nd one)
Continue to Stop Sign (47th)
RIGHT on 47th to end
RIGHT on Mt Emma Road
LEFT on Angeles Forest Hwy (left side of road is a big turn out for pic if you want)
LEFT on Upper Big Tujunga (had to see)
RIGHT on Angeles Crest Hwy to end
RIGHT on Foothill
LEFT on Ocean View
LEFT onto Honolulu and find a place to park if you will be going to one of the restaurants there (Plenty of parking in the alley just behind Honolulu)

Re: New Years Day Run
I may be driving but I don't think I can make an early start. And I'll probably be in a slow car.

Re: New Years Day Run
I'll never make that run in time, and the car might not either! I'll probably do a late morning run through the local hills.
