Where _IS_ Everyone ?

Post by VWNate1 »

10.4.2020

Hi all ;

I know there's a pandemic going on and we all need to be careful but I've been invited to a few 'social distancing drives' and n ot gone close to anyone else, I miss the monthly drives from Malibu .

I hope all here are being careful and wearing their masks etc., we certainly are .

I've taken to taking my Sweet and out Foster boys out on long weekend drives, 200 ~ 300 miles start to finish .

It's better when I see some auld crate ahead of me .

All well here. I've been on a few social distance drives, and working a lot around the house. We just took our TC to SLO and back yesterday for an annual gathering, where everyone was masked and social distancing. 400 miles in a day driving a TC is no trivial task!

What did I learned today? Apple’s new translate program is garbage compared to translate.google.com. No auto detect. I hope you figure out your brake bleeding problem.

Good to see some are still here and interested .

I spent the entire day yesterday working on the electrical system of a well used 1970 Dodge crew cab service truck, we're getting it ready to go back to Death Valley where my idiot brother pummeled the thing to death the last time we went .

I got an invite to a maybe social distancing drive, I can hardly wait .

I'm still around. This year was a tough one. I spent the last three years pretty head down building a business. Unfortunately it was mostly based around catering, promotional events for companies, and big events like street fairs and music festivals. 2019 was a solid good year for us, and then just watched it crumble in 2020.

It's been a weird year. Since the kids aren't in school, my work is mostly gone, and my wife is working remotely, so we bought big van and a 30-ft travel trailer and we've been living remotely about halftime. Spend some time in Utah, Colorado Wyoming Montana and a big trip to northern California. I've also been taking The family on some long river trips in a white water raft. The longest being 8 days on the Green River in utah through Desolation Canyon. A good amount of time on the road

The MG has been largely dormant this year. Just been busy with everything else. Sometimes I even think about selling it, I love driving it, but if I'm honest I'm not sure I'm all that into working on it and it always seems to need something.

Nice to hear from you, Jeff. Sounds like you're turning lemons into lemonade with the travels and family time. Sorry to hear about the business dropoff. Seems to be a common and unfortunate theme these days. I had 4 months of unemployment myself. Hang in there, I have good feelings about the coming year. :drive

Good to hear some are holding on and doing O.K. .

We're doing fine except for not getting close to anyone else .
