I am restoring a Morgan F Type 3 wheeler that has seats similar to the TC/D cars. Moss Motors has an upholstery set that I think I could fit to my car with minor modification.
Could someone measure their seat back (width and height) and the seat squab (length, width and thickness not the wood base)?
That would be a great help to me.
Thanks,
Fred V

Re: TC/TD seat dimensions
Hi Fred,
Interesting project! Are you looking for the measurement of the wood base that they attach to, or the overall size? The size of the upholstered seat might vary a bit from one to the next depending on padding etc. TC and TD are different sizes, TD being a bit wider I believe. I can measure my TC for you this weekend.

Re: TC/TD seat dimensions
The Morgan is narrower than either MG so I would have to cut down the upholstery to fit. This way I'm way ahead of having it all custom done. The seat back can easily wrap around the sides and not show. The seat bottoms will take a bit more work.
Measure just the upholstery width, length and height on the seat bottoms. You can see from the attached photo what I'm talking about. The chassis is 34" wide. The existing seats are not bad but they are not rolled and pleated and the seat back doesn't come down far enough. I don't know why they did that.
Thank you so much for your trouble Steve.

Re: TC/TD seat dimensions
Sorry for the delay. Had a very busy weekend rescuing a barn find. The squab overall size isn't much different than the dimensions of the base wood. Best I could measure it's 17w x 7h x 19d. The seat back is 40 wide, and then has about a 1.5" flap on each side that sticks out. The flap could be removed or folded back. It's about 26 high. Depth is hard to measure but probably around 7".
The TD body is a couple inches wider so those seats would be bigger than TC.

I kind of need one! Not sure where yet another barn find is going to live yet.
