Anyone familiar with the town of Guadalupe?

I'm looking for a good route from the 154 into Guadalupe, avoiding the freeway. I'm thinking of Harris Grade or possibly the 135. This is for tomorrow so kind of last minute, I know.

Near Santa Maria. Accesable form Lompoc via highway 1. Famous for the "Far Western Tavern" a niche racher's owned steak house (and old fashioned watering hole). Great 50s experience. :D

Thanks for the tip. We'll be in a caravan of T-Type MGs so back roads are good. Our route is taking us over San Marcos Pass from Santa Barbara. They are planning on stopping at a steak house in Guadalupe so I wonder if it's the same one!

Steve, if it's not too late to add some ideas. Once you are on the San Marcos Pass, take the Solvang left and go straight thru Solvang to Buellton and then south one exit to Santa Rosa Rd, which takes you to just 2 miles south of Lompoc. Turn right at the end of Santa Rosa and you're there.

Then, as marankie pointed out, once you reach Lompoc and turn left onto Hwy 1, just follow the Hwy 1 signs all the way to Guadalupe.

Have fun.

Well, due to road construction shutting down Balcolm Canyon and slowing other roads, it took forever to get to Ojai. We ended up stopping in Los Olivos for lunch and then took the 135 to the 1 North. Thanks for the suggestions though! :)

Wayne, we did wave as we drove by on the 101. 8)
