Oh boy. Looks like it is time for a HINT.

It is not a TR5 and it is valued at $50 to $100K if that helps...

Well, it SHOULD be a GTR 4A, based on the license plate. (Didn't want to suggest that the first time, as it seemed to easy).
But it's too bad it has a roof.
In baseball, running into someone is apparently a "collision".
But doing the same thing in a car somehow makes it an "accident".

Hi Dean, Yes, I think that is a Triumph Dove GTR4 about 1963. They were a TR4 roadster, modified by Triumph dealers Dove, to a GT.

So Mark wins, then, surpassing even Malcolm?

Mark,

Excellent job. As you know this is a...

Triumph GTR4 : A rare survivor : the Harrington-bodied Dove ; only 55 were made during the period 1961-1964. Harrington Motor Bodies ( better known for their coach bodywork ) removed the boot and rear dech of the TR4 , then replaced them with a full-length moulded GRP roof section incorporating a hinged tailgate.

Here is a link to a reference site.

http://books.google.com/books?id=roAhcu ... Co.&f=true

15 gallon tank. 30% price increase over the TR4(A). On the market 2 years before the BGT. Fiberglass. Factory conversion, yet could be done to a customer's used car. No records of TR5. Rare, but is it right?

I'll post another photo later this week.

Scoring looks like this...

Gene + 1
Malcolm + 17.5 (passed by a rookie:))
Steve + 2
Larry + 5.0
Tannyo + 1
Jimmy + 1
Mark + 20 (nice job)

Next one will be fun!

Dean (and of note, this post is emailed from "the barn". Finally the wireless is working on my antique desktop out here, but not to my access point:) ooops.)

Wow, that's interesting. I didn't know that Doves used Harringtons for the GTR4 body conversions. I think they did the mechanical conversion themselves though.
