Need fabricator to put in drivers floorpan, LA area.

Post by erics75218 »

I'm trying to get all the stuff I have no chance of fixing myself out of the way and now that means the drivers side floor pan.

It's not that rusted out, i've taken a hammer and screwdriver to it. But the holes where the seat bolts in are rusted out, and I just want to do it right and pay the cost. I'm gonna buy a new floorpan from Moss I suppose. I may look around on e-bay and in the classifieds, who knows.

BUT, back to the original question. I live in Marina Del Rey, does anyone know of a place at least kinda' local to that where I could take my 98' GT "Supperlagerra" (hahaah) to get the old floor cut out, and the new floor welded in?

Thanks in advance, and once I get my floorpan fixed and i'm able to bolt my seat down securely, I'll be going on some drives with ya'll.

Seems to me that any good body shop could do it. I haven't had a pan replaced in a long time so I don't have any specific recommendations. You could try Dave Wellwood ("wellwoodautorestoration" on this site), or Classic Vision Restoration in Burbank. I don't know what they would charge though.

Dave might even have the floor pan material on the shelf to fix those holes you have.

great tips, I'll give Dave a call in the morning. I'm about to have to go out of the country for a while and I'd really like to get this car drivable for the girl, before I go. All it needs is a good seat situation and it'd be good to go!

Thanks again

I know a body shop in Highland Park that does lots of Mercedes and other Classics repair and restoration wirk , lifetime gaurantee on repairs .

On York Blvd. East of Eagle Rock Blvd.

He's prolly going to do my old Mercedes W-123's .
