Machine shop reccomendation?

Post by olson »

Anyone care to reccomend a machine shop to line bore, grind, balance crank for spitfire? Many local shops can do it, but I prefer someone with experience with British cars. APT in Riverside?

APT has a good reputation for engine building. My B engine is there.

I've used RD Machining in Chatsworth for cylinder head work. He was a nice guy and did a good job but I don't know if he does what you need. Might be worth a call.

My old local machinist isn't around anymore but maybe someone has another recommendation for someone closer to you?

Wait, what are you working on back there? A Spitfire?!?

Can anyone suggest a machine shop to fabricate some custom parts? I need a manifold altered, a spacer made for my steering wheel and some other stuff. A guy with a lathe and mill in his garage would be perfect......

I have been using Bob's Machine Shop in La Cresenta. They have my B motor at the moment. From the looks of their shop they can do about anything. They did work on my in-laws 1934 MG PA a while back. If they could work on that one they can do about anything.
