TC starter repair

Post by simon90248 »

My TC starter died. I have pulled it out and am looking for a good shop to fix it here in the San Fernando Valley.Or if necessary, Los Angeles. It was last done 11 years ago and has been working fine since but suddenly died an nothing that I could do would resuscitate it. Ron Simon

Normally that's my first recommendation as well, but I know that Ron is aware of Jerry and has probably used him before. It's a crappy drive to get down there and back from the Valley. I've searched all my old receipts for the place that rebuilt my B generator many years ago but no luck. They were in Chatsworth, a one-man shop in an industrial park. He's probably out of business by now anyway.

It's just as far but a much nicer drive, so also consider Dave Wellwood in Ventura if no one local is trustworthy with a TC starter. If he doesn't do them there then surely he has a source. He's restored several TABC cars from what I understand. He is on this forum as "wellwoodautorestoration". Maybe he will chime in here with a suggestion.

EDIT: I can't believe I didn't think of this before, but my favorite local parts house might have a recommendation. Call "All Car Parts" in Canoga Park: (818) 884-7111 They offer all kinds of machining services, etc.
