12-20-2016: Major Updates

Post by Steve Simmons » Tue Dec 20, 2016 8:34 pm

After a long, long, looong battle with software version incompatibilities, SQL errors and other stuff we nerds sometimes enjoy, the forum is now fully updated to the latest software. What does this mean for you? Hopefully a smoother overall experience reading and posting messages.

Image Attachments Made Easy!
One major improvement you will notice is image attachments. To add an image to your post, all you have to do is drag it into the message box and it will magically attach itself! Display of attached images is also greatly improved.

Mobile View Improved!
Additionally, mobile devices (smart phones, tablets, etc) should work much better. Yeah, I know the header doesn't display right but that's just an eyesore and will get addressed later. I also know that the home page is all screwed up at the moment.

Bigger Avatars!
Avatar size is now increased, so if you want to upload a new avatar, it will be easier to see. Avatars are those little photos by your name, and are fun for others to see. So get uploading!

I'm Tired!
Anyway, there are too many improvements to list here. Well, a more honest statement would be that I'm too tired to list them all here and I want to get away from the keyboard for a while. So enjoy! :)

PS... Thanks to Tanny for constantly (and rightfully) complaining about numerous issues with the old software, which led to this long over-due update. Please continue!

Looks really good. I know I have been away for a while. But I like what you have done to the place.
