1-1-2014: Sorry for the downtime

Post by Steve Simmons »

My apologies for the downtime today. I performed a software update a couple of days ago and it wreaked havoc on the database, rendering users unable to post or reply to messages.

After 5 hours of hair pulling, I have managed to repair the database and get things going. Thanks to Stewart for pointing out the problem this afternoon, and sorry again for not seeing the issue sooner!

If there are any further issues, please let me know.

Steve,

I appreciate your time and effort to keep this site up and running. Vintage Motoring is always open in a tab on my iPad. It is one of the few sites I check e Rey day.

Thank you.

Ditto. I think we sometimes tend to take this forum for granted and forget that it takes a dedicated person to keep it going. When I stop and think about it, not having it available would certainly leave me feeling disconnected from the vintage motoring community.

Thank you for your dedication to this forum, Steve!
