Triplex MGA Windscreen

Post by Steve Simmons »

I have here an almost brand new Triplex / Pilkington windscreen for MGA. It has been in the car for less than 1000 miles. To buy one is $400 (359+tax+shipping) from Moss.

The good news is that I'm selling it for half price. The bad news is that there is a small rock chip in it, just above eye line on the left side.

I would not be replacing it but the MGA is being used for a film shoot and they plan to shoot directly through the windscreen, so they are worried about seeing the blemish.

This is the best glass you can buy, made from original molds with the correct Triplex logo. The glass is much thicker and higher quality than aftermarket brands, and fits into the frame far easier. If the chip doesn't bother you then this is a deal!

$150 and it's yours.

Greetings,

I would have to guess that the windshield is long gone but I have to ask. Still have it?

Actually I put it in storage and I believe it's still there in the shipping box. Here's a photo I found of the rock chip. It's on the left side, as I remember about 3/4 of the way up. Swing by and take a look if you're interested. Let me know and I'll pull it out of storage for you.

Should also add that this has the nice black Triplex logo in the lower corner. The latest glass all has a white one up top in the center, which not only looks bad but is incorrect. I got stuck with one of these newer ones, and if it wasn't for the effort of changing the glass I'd probably put this one back in.
