1974 Jensen Healey for sale $6,000 -- SOLD

Post by Bora450 »

66,900 miles. This car is in excellent mechanical condition, with the engine and 5-speed transmission having recently been rebuilt along with many other parts being replaced. The engine is the 4 cylinder Twin-Cam Lotus 907 Engine rated at 140 HP at 6000 RPM. Lotus had learned to keep the oil in the later engines and this is one of the good ones. The previous owner drove the car less than 4,000 miles in the one year that he owned it. Unfortunately, I have driven it less than 150 miles in the 1-1/2 years that I have owned it! There are receipts for everything listed below. The body has no rust and the floors have been repaired. The floors are also sealed for future rust prevention.
I purchased the car with a red/orange color that is non-original. The engine compartment, hood, front fenders, door jamb and door sill were painted in the original red color while the engine was being rebuilt. The remainder of the gallon of paint is included to finish the doors, rear fenders and trunk lid. The paint was mixed to a paint code that can be duplicated if required. I had planned to finish the car and enjoy it for a long time but I will be leaving the state and cannot take the car. One more item about the body, as you can see in the photos, the front fenders now sport the original “J” emblem. The (ugly, in my opinion) JH-5 emblems are included and can replace these in the same mounting holes.

Stromberg carburetors were on the engine when I purchased the car. After the rebuild, I installed Dellorto DHLA 45s on the correct intake manifold and the engine now feels really powerful. The rebuilt engine is not broken in yet so I can’t really “wring it out”. That will be your job. As you can see in the photos, the air filter housings complement the cam covers and the package looks quite complete. Original carburetors are included in the parts boxes.
