Wanted: MGB GT

Post by Steve Simmons »

Someone I work with is looking for a GT. Any year considered, but should be a reliable driver. No major projects.

How about a '67?
All very nice, except for the paint which is about a 20-footer.
And, yes, the tape indicating where the roof should be cut has been removed.
In baseball, running into someone is apparently a "collision".
But doing the same thing in a car somehow makes it an "accident".

Steve,
This car was stored for 27 years,knowing that this is what I've done: new tires and tubes,Replaced with a newbrake Master cylinder,new cluthch master cylinder,, new slave and hose,new brake hoses (3) new rear brake wheel cyl,shoea and drums OK,new front brake pads calipers ok,New front shocks, new water pump the good one cast iron impeller, radiator rodded out and pressure tested.New SU fuel pump New V 8 arm bushings, you get the idea but wait theres more new spark plugs plugs, wires, distb cap red rotor. points need to be changed all belts and hoses. Oil and filter changed in trans and diff.new rubber molding and windshield wipers.New radio antenna radio dosen't work,almost forgot new Interstate group26 Battery.Also going with the car is an adapter for a screw on oil filter foam and diaphragm for the drivers seat, side reflectors and chrome plates for drivers side.Replaced the electric oil pressure sender and gage with a mechincal one.Also a new gas tank sending thingy.Car runs with 70# oil pressure and runs cool,come over and drive it.Oh full disclosure I would replace the steering rack.Well there it is asking $5500.

FWIW ;

The steering racks are shimmed and adjustable , easily at home .

I did this to my '67 , cleaned out a lot of old oil and dirt , slapped on new boots and the rack felt as new again .

This looks like a nice tidy little car .

Factory red (so it appears) is a plus .
