Hi Stewart,
That looks just fabulous, especially with those wheels, but doesn't the suspension look a little high?

The engine isn't in yet. Heater and the brake pedal box are back in. Hopefully will have the rest done in the next day or so then the engine will go in.

I think I will be available. Let me double check. Any tools or supplies you will need? Which garage is it in?

Wow Stewart. That is just to nice. Almost a crime to put the engine back in it as it looks so good.
I can say your MGB GT is going to be one of the cleanest that I have seen in a long time and better than new I would bet.
Sorry I can not help with the engine install, you would not want me around anyway as I tend to scratch stuff when doing an engine instillation.
Might I suggest you remove the hood ( bonnet ) so you do not hurt it or have it fall while your doing the install.
:)

I'd like to start around 8:30 so it can be done in the shade. Shouldn't take very long though it will feel like it when the engine is hanging in the air. Breakfast or lunch will be on me.

Also anyone have a picture of the horn wiring and turn signal wiring that goes across the slam panel. I'm not sure if there is a second harness or if I have to make one as everything is a bit short.

Engine is in with a lot of help from Tanny. Turned into a total but kicker as the trans would not clear the crossmember and . The paint is still pristine and everyone can still count to 20. Now I just need to install the trans crossmember so I can call it done. Who cranked up the humidity?

Darn, wish I got a hold of you this morning. My schedule changed so I could have made it by if I had the address! I'm taking a break from my garage right now because it's so stuffy, with or without the doors open.

Stewart tied the hood up as high as it could go to get it out of the way. I didn't ask, but I'm betting that he didn't take it off so he wouldn't have to align it when putting it back on.

Pictures really don't do justice to this paint job. It is beautiful. Red but slightly dark red. The wheels look nice, but in person, they really pop.

Supercharged, ceramic coated exhaust, and like mine, a 3 synchro overdrive transmission.

Little did we know that the exhaust would foul against the steering column and the whole thing would have to come off. Steve, we really needed your help on this one.

Hi Steward and Tanny,

I like the photo of the MGB GT with Stewart standing in the backround scratching his head as if to be thinking I know there was a engine in there at some point. Now where did I put it..... :D .....
Stewart you GT is going to look great when your finished and run very well with that engine setup and gear box.

I thought to warn you about the blower and manifold needing to come off, but I thought that with the stock manifold it would clear. Now I remember that it's a LHD car so the steering shaft would be in the way. So sorry I didn't say anything now! If you want to pull it out again, I'll come help put it back. ;)

Stewart, I know the car isn't done yet but I'm already betting this will be the nicest MGB GT around. Maybe anywhere. Just gorgeous, and the wheels are awesome on a BGT. Always wanted a set myself. Maybe someday.

BTW, when I pull or install an engine, I bungee the bonnet to the vent window. Only once did I forget and open the door. Caught it just in time!

I swear who ever designed the blower kit at moss must of though everyone had a 8 year old at their disposal to get the nut on the left side of the center exhaust port started. It takes twice as long to get that single nut on as it does to install the other 5.

Was just about to finish up with the drive train when I found out the early cars need a longer drive shaft DOH!

Yeah, those center nuts are real buggers! Even worse once the radiator panel is back in, so make it right the first time.

You can have your drive shaft re-built to the proper length. Should be about a 2" difference if I recall correctly. Assuming you have the correct tube axle and not a banjo.

Your engine bay is putting mine to shame. My engine was in the car when I did body and paint so I didn't bother re-painting the engine bay. Kinda wish I had.

So far the radiator is in (not fun with the charger as the lower hose is a pita), drive shaft speedo cable and exhaust are hooked up. Wiring for the car has been gone through. Tach was wired up wrong when I got it which explains why it never worked and the overdrive switch has been installed. Now I just need to figure out how to wire in the rear window defroster. Rebuilt fuel gauge and correct oil pressure/water temp gauge installed. Just about ready to fire it off.

Overdrive relay, and the correct master cylinder cans. Both rare items these days. You're sure doing a nice job. Noticed you deleted the oil cooler. I've always run them, but my SC engine runs so cool that I've considered taking it out just to save complexity and weight.

Oil cooler is there but I'm waiting for the oil thermostat to arrive before I plumb it in. Even have a generator on this car. Steve who do you use to rebuild the regulator?

Have you converted the rear bushing to a bearing? If not, it won't last long.

What does the generator need? A basic rebuild is a simple matter. If the armature needs work then I usually send them to Jerry Felper down in Anaheim.

The generators been modded and should be good. I'd like to get the original regulator/control box rebuilt and replace the moss repro.

Congrats! Didn't sound too bad once it warmed up. Probably running a bit lean.
