I don't think that's supposed to come apart. On the rear, there is a rivet that appears to go right through the latching arm.

Re: Stewart's 67 MGB GT
I can't find my spares at the moment but I'll dig for them. I'd like to keep one pair for myself but I might have a second set. I'll get in touch when I've found them...

Looking good! I like the mirror mounted on the dash, better than what I was going to do.

Drilling those wing mirror holes is the most terrifying thing you can do!
Why did you decide to replace the standard mirror with a dash mount?

Re: Stewart's 67 MGB GT
I watched Guillermo sweat bullets drilling the first pilot hole after the rest of the guys in the shop suddenly vanished.
My sight line is going to be pretty high and the ceiling mounted mirror will cause a nice blind spot. I have the mirror mounted low on the roadster and I like it. It's a shame as I did track down an original mirror assembly in good shape.

Re: Stewart's 67 MGB GT
Stewart sat in my car and decided the mirror blocked his vision. Being vertically challenged it's usually not in my way, however Stewart is taller than me. Stewart said that Frontline copied his mirror idea before he could use it.Steve Simmons wrote:Drilling those wing mirror holes is the most terrifying thing you can do!

It looks nice. Along with the round fender mirrors, it gives the car an even more vintage feel.
I don't have an original in my GT either. I have a larger than stock mirror with day/night setting. It's mounted to a small panavise clamp that allows it to sit slightly lower, maybe an inch or so.

Stewart,
Your MGB GT is looking very sharp.
Sure hope my car turns out as nice paint wise.

Re: Stewart's 67 MGB GT
Is that a fuzzy headliner? Did you forgo the side pieces and just upholster the whole thing as a single piece?

It's not fuzzy but has a fabric like texture. It should be multi piece but it's hard to tell in the photo's.

Maybe you just brought it to the wrong garage!
Ok, I'm just anxious to see those wheels mounted.
