Re: Random Video Of The Day
I'm always amazed at how close, and calm, the spectators are when the driving is that on the edge.

Yes, I hope Austin doesn't drive as aggressively as that in the canyons.

Re: Random Video Of The Day
Here's a good one from 1937. The best part starts at 5:50 where they drive a tour of England.

Thanks for sharing Steve, that was a great video. I can attest to the qualities of the Ford eight, my mother had one just like the subject car, when I was a boy, and it was an excellent car.

Re: Random Video Of The Day
Man, that steering wheel looks like the worst thing ever invented for performance driving. I could almost feel my hands slipping off of it. There were a couple pretty hairy moments in there, too.

Neat video. The steering wheel is not unlike the slick, thin wheel in the E-type.

I see. Seems awkward driving with the glove that way.

Re: Random Video Of The Day
From the driver.
Thanks E... The drift @ 2.20 was all under control, 'cause at quite slow speed. The worse moment came @ 4.58, when my brake foot slid from the brake, 'cause water dropped thru the air-intake down onto the pedal...! This car is well known for ist Gullwing doors, but - as you can see - it was built for racing; not cruising! Keep on racing! mü

Re: Random Video Of The Day
Yes well I've driven a 300SL, and I consider it the worst driving car I've ever experienced. It would take a very accomplished driver to drive one as fast as that cat seemed to be going. I really don't know what the fuss is about 300 SL gull wings. I think they are beautifully engineered, but very poorly designed junk.

I've seen places like this, but this is the best I've seen. Great way to preserved the history of the place and keep it in use.

Re: Random Video Of The Day
That is a really refreshing idea. At least the British embrace their heritage rather than bulldoze it. I really like the idea of having all of those industries in one historic location.
