I wonder why they never say where they start, where they're going or where they end? I've even asked outright about events in the past, so that I could decide if I wanted to attend, and was refused info about the route. Needless to say I didn't go on any of them.

Hey Guys!
Haven't been here in awhile, my car has needed some work. You know how it goes, and there is still a bit to do.
Wanted to tell you about an upcoming Monte Carlo style rally. It is FREE for first-timers after that the next time you do it the fee is $25. Anyway the link is:
http://carzero.freeservers.com.
Date is May 9th from Route 66 Classic Grill 18730 Soledad Cyn Rd Canyon Country, CA 9A Reg opens
This rally is organized by Ron Dunlop of RD Machine in Chatsworth, CA, an excellent, experienced machinist. Ron did some work for me and is the nicest guy.
Hope to see some of you out there. 8)

I ran ITN and other Monte Carlo style rallies from '87-'00. They are a lot of fun. I highly recommend it for those who enjoy driving. It is a puzzle of sorts, but no cryptic instructions or specific speeds to maintain. It's map based. :drive

I did this rally as a spectator and volunteer and it was a lot of fun. There are a few traps and such but mainly doable, with different levels of expertise and instructions. The organizers work really hard to set up a good course.
I was told there is a monthly First Fri Nite rally for a few hours in So Cal put on by the Santa Monica Sports Club, in case anyone wants to try a similar rally-- leaves from Mission Hills

Here was an interesting rally that took place this weekend, the Touge California

Looks like a lot of fun, with some help from a Santa Monica Sports Car Club member.

Hi All,
Looks like the SoCal TT rally is this weekend, though i won't be going. Anyone attending? I don't have anymore info, unfortunately. There is a TT Yahoo group that would have additional info I think.

Hi Linda,

I'm going again. It's a lot of fun with some really spectacular roads. We end up staying at an inexpensive but clean hotel/motel. The cost this year which includes a t-shirt, stickers, route sheet, motel cost, and the awards dinner is $160 and $75 for each passenger. You can talk to some who've gone before and who are going this year for no cost.
Friends and like minded enthusiasts are welcome to come to Purgatory Pizza, 1326 E First St 90033, on Friday night for a get together.
I think there's a reason it's called Purgatory Pizza. There's no A/C.

Also, if you want to drive part of the first day come and join us.
Likewise, help send off the group at Chango Coffee on Saturday morning, 1559 N Echo Park 90026, leaving about 9:30 am. Drive or ride along on the route for a while if you like.
Here's some pictures I took last year.

http://tanny.ica.com/ICA/TKO/test.nsf/p ... 20Cal%20TT

You can get an application at the TT Yahoo Group. It looks like Tad is accepting late applications. If anyone wants to join me, I'm looking for a navigator.

I'm going ! .

Looks like I'll be driving a 1982 Mercedes four cylinder diesel sedan with a bad engine :hammer: .

Why the hell not ~ it's very reliable and might be dead last but should get me there O.K. .

Tom says he's coming too, once again in his raggedy old 1979 Dodge D200 ex Cal Trans Crew Cab Service Bed truck .

A beast that's very comfy for long drives ~ we've camped our way across America in it many times .

Come see us off Saturday morning ! you're allowed to follow us a while if you want .

Linda,

I take pictures of cars. If a woman walks in front of the car while I'm taking a picture of it that's her problem.

Porsches on a TT run would be a rare thing indeed .

Maybe some day I'll borrow my old 1963 356B back from my Son and drive it.....

Sadly , the brakes on Tom's monster 1979 Dodge D200 long bed crew cab service body truck failed so he'll be in his 1987 Mercedes S-Klasse Diesel .

It's HOT out there so I didn't get any chance to wash my Mercedes, I'll try to run it though the automatic car wash early to - morrow morning .

My back popped out early Wednesday morning, it seems better now .

Remember : I'll pull over to let you pass if you close up on my back bumper and flash your lights ~ I don't slow down because I might not ever get it back up to speed again if I do :P .

Those who like old cars in general really should treat themselves to seeing our send off , a wild variety of vehicles always shows up  .
