Introduce yourself!
There are lots of new names popping up on the forum. Let's find out a little bit about everyone!
My name is Steve and I'm an MG-aholic. My father started me in this hobby by driving me around in his 1965 MGB, which he bought from his father in the 1970's. I eventually inherited that car at the age of 17 and it still sits in my garage today. In recent years our collection has grown and now includes a 1958 MGA Roadster, 1953 MG YB Saloon, 1967 MGB GT (RHD), 1949 MG TC and most recently a 1969 MGC GTS.
Nothing offers more fun to me than hopping inside one of these cars and driving the tires off of it. That's what they were built for, after all! There is a lot more information about the cars on my web site, which you can visit by clicking my sig image below.
Edit: Since this post we've sold the YB Saloon and bought two Fords, a '25 Model T Roadster Pickup and a '39 V8 1/2 ton pickup.

I'm Rob. I own and drive my 1976 MGB daily. When I start ordering parts for my car I can't help myself but order too much at one time, and then spend weeks waiting on edge for the stuff to show. Sometimes, if the stuff doesn't show up fast enough, I'll go order more stuff! Even if I don't need it! It's a sick sick habit.
Anyways, I made an appearance at the drive on Memorial Day Drive. I drove the understated white MGB with Rubber Bumpers. Hmmmm... In fact, I was driving the only Rubber Bumper B that still has its Rubber Bumpers on it.
It was a fantastic time. I left sun bunt, but glad I did it.

An Introduction
Hey all,
My name is Rod, I was driving one of the Black MG TD'son Memorial day. Mine is the one with the Tonneau cover and not the one with the Gas can in the back. Our TD has been in the family since 1959 when my Father bought it from the original owner. The first restoration was attempted in the 70's but never completed. In 2000, it was decided that THIS was the year to begin to get her back on the road. My two nephews, my Father and I spent the next 5 years ( mostly on Saturdays ) doing a total restoration.
I want to thank Steve for a WONDERFUL day on monday. Great route and some excelent roads for the Little British Cars. Even with the group leaving us TD's in the dust , We both had a geat time and look forward to cruiseing with you again.

I'm Sharon, and my friend Wally and I were in the red Austin Healey that made a spectacle of itself in the Memorial Day ride on Monday. I've had the car for 30 years - had an extra $1000, wanted a little sports car to go tooling around in on the weekends - but it's only in recent years that I had it painted, then had the engine rebuilt...twice. The first (2004) lasted 13,000 miles in a year and a half, with problems all the way, probably because of the oil additive issue, plus many other things went wrong - it was not a good job. The joy of a ride like Monday makes all the aggravation worth it, but a day like that, without the breakdown, would be even better!

It's running, but I want to get it in better shape to turn over to the sister who knows how to drive a stick shift, but isn't a car enthusiast - the goal is to make it a pleasant driving experience so she'll keep it on the road!

Wow Sharon, I'll give you double your money back on the Healey. I too had an engine go out prematurely due to a poor rebuild. My '65 MGB engine lasted only 11,000 miles and is now being rebuilt by a top-notch specialist. I hope you get those bugs worked out!
Good luck on the '64 also. It's a great car. I've found the best medicine for old cars is to drive them as much as possible. Honestly, the more I drive my cars, the better they run. You certainly can't beat a situation like that!

Intro and Thanks
I'm Art. My wife Debra and I were on the Monday Malibu run in the Mineral Blue '68 B. Baby Blue is my daily driver, logging about 8,000 miles per year on an engine I rebuilt. And don't look too closely at the paint job; did it in my driveway and it's a bit orange-peely, but it's mine.
My big Thanks to Steve and Linda for organising these events. I have done four now and enjoyed the heck out of every one. My boys rode with me on earlier jaunts so I thought it was time to bring the spouse. She had a great time and only said anything about how fast I was driving once.
I drove my first LBC ('65 Spitfire) with a friend to Canada from Illinois for the Expo in Montreal in '67. I was hooked. My first personal car was a '63 AH Sprite. Have had 4 other LBCs since then including the current one.
I love old British sports cars. I almost never have a bad time when driving Baby, and that's every day. I am also introducing some of my high school students to the pleasures of LBCs. One told me the other day that he and a number of his friends have decided that Baby Blue is the coolest teacher car on campus. Maybe there is hope yet.

Hi I'm Brett, I live in South Orange county...just got my 72 GT about two months ago and loving it, it loves to be beaten on and it starts every time I need it!
I work at Hyundai as an Engineering Manager in Huntington Beach...
I had a 71 GT in College and road raced it in Michigan, it was a beater but it was fun.
I'm trying to get into the social swing of british motoring again and find some local groups for parts swapping and friends...

Now I have a 72 GT. Got it about 3 months ago. No OD so keep your eyes peeled for me.
Just added superlites to replace rostyles - I had a blowout so I took the plunge earlier than I had planned but glad it happened. The new wheels really enhance the driving experience.
I work in Huntington Beach for Hyundai as an Engineering Manager, been in California for 5 years now. Grew up in Michigan and worked at Chrysler Jeep and Ford as an engineer also.
I'm married, my wife Sara loves the GT which helps.
Hope to meet you someday, sorry to have missed the memorial day cruise.

Brett, are they knockoffs? While they don't look entirely original (knockoff hub on the inside instead of outside), they are reported to be very light which should greatly enhance the ride of the car over standard center lock minilites.
You can say that again!...my wife Sara loves the GT which helps.

Hi, My name is Kelvin and I'm a non-recovering British car nut.
I was on the rally driving a Burgundy TR8 and had a great time, thanks Steve.
My daily drivers are the TR8, Rover SD1 and a 1970 MGB. All pretty beat up, but fun to drive.
My shop is littered with dream projects including a 68 Morgan +8, MGC GTS replica, 58 Magnette, 66 Jag 3.8S, MGB V8. Dreaming is about all I seem to be doing lately. The back yard has MGAs and a GT6+ starting to turn into lawn art.
I work at Moss Motors to pay for my habit, but am still a nice guy.

Hi, I'm Larry and I've owned my '67 MGB (roadster) since 1981 (in high school). I bought the car, drove it home and tore it apart. 25 years later it's finally done, or as done as a restoration project ever is. I restored it similar to the factory Works race cars, red and white, with the motor done to the Special Tuning stage 5 specs, etc. (old school).
Although I grew up around my father's vintage Corvettes, my friend had a TR4A, then a bugeye Sprite, so I got into it the British car thing. I also owned a '65 B for a short time way back when.
Currently I have the B and a '74 Nova (daily driver) that's been in the family since new. My wife drives an '01 XJ8 that we recently purchased. I hope to obtain an Series I or II E-type in the near future.
I met Steve at the Central Coast British show on Sunday. His great GTS and my B looked like team cars...it was fun!
