Spotted Around Town
I thought it would be fun to post photos of any interesting cars people have seen around town while going about your normal business.
I spotted this one at a shopping mall. Note the bumper sticker...
And saw this nice old Lamborghini on the 101...

Re: Spotted Around Town
Well not exactly around town but I spotted this Jaguar D-Type while chasing the WRC Rally France event from stage to stage a couple of weeks ago. Several vintage cars were doing a tour across the French countryside. I didn't have my camera ready and just managed to snap a couple of photos of the Jag and a Mercedes as they were passing by.

Now that's car spotting! (drool)
Saw this one in Malibu recently. Young girl driving a classic Jaguar Saloon, and the license plate reads.... ready for this?

Nope, but if it was I would have been over there to rob the wheels, they are the only other car to run with the Dunlop center lock wheels with all round disc brakes !

Re: Spotted Around Town
Here's a quality photo of a neat Fiat I saw today on the way to work. I guess that's what happens when you can't look at the viewfinder while taking a picture.
Anyone know exactly what it is? I seem to remember "1800" on the back but I can't find one online. The rear roofline reminded me of my MGB GT but without the fins and with a vertical rear end.

Re: Spotted Around Town
It's an 850, I believe.
Italians reserved the truly large displacement engines, such as an 1800, for trucks and buses.

In baseball, running into someone is apparently a "collision".
But doing the same thing in a car somehow makes it an "accident".

LOL! I can't even respond to that one because it's true. It's especially funny because I was on my way to operate a $200,000 camera for a TV show. Glad the director didn't see my recent work!olson wrote:wow, thats quite a photo from someone who gets paid to operate a camera.
Jimmy, that's the one thank you! Here's a photo from someone who was looking at the viewfinder...

Spotted today in Burbank... a man who is proud of his Ford even when it's missing its tailgate.

Are you sure it wasn't 1-800-FIX-FIAT?
Bad joke, I actually enjoyed my 850 spyder.

Re: Spotted Around Town
It's a little known fact, perhaps, but it's actually supposed to be "Fee-at" for the US market.
Nobody much cared about occasional malfunctions in Italy, as there it was simply looked at as another reason to sit down and have some more wine with the mechanic.

I saw these old trucks out by Paso Robles yesterday. It looked like the owner had quite a few of them.

Took our MGB out for it's first drive out of Monrovia and we get about 20 minutes to the east and see this MG TD also based in Monrovia out for a morning drive as well. What are the odds? Or better yet am I just getting a chance to see what the more privileged among us already enjoy
